Thank you for choosing to support Macmillan Caring Locally and helping us to help others in our community. We act as custodians for two funds which are explained in more detail below. Please choose which one you would like to support.
Our Principal Aims
These donations go to support the principal aims of our charity which are the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital. We fund the multi-disciplinary teams at the hospice including the Family Support Team, the Rehabilitation Team, the Day Centre, the Community Specialist Palliative Care Sisters, the Specialist Palliative Care Sisters at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and a number of senior medical posts at the Macmillan Unit.
Macmillan Caring Locally also owns and operates The Grove in Bournemouth, the UK’s only holiday hotel for cancer patients and those with a life limiting illness.

Brick by Brick Campaign
our capital appeal to build a new Hospice at Christchurch Hospital
Patient referrals to our service have tripled in the last ten years. The existing Macmillan Unit at Christchurch was built in 1974 and is now far too small for the number of patients under our care. We have been setting aside funds to build a new hospice for many years. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we have raised £5m so far. However we need a further £5m to build a hospice that will meet the future needs of our community, so we have launched our capital appeal ‘Brick by Brick’.
